Description / responsibilities
  • Expertise for the Airport Nürnberg LTD about the potential of mitigation and compensation planning and future grassland management in accordance with light safety measures
  • Vegetation Mapping and Evaluation; Grassland management plans and monitoring to harmonise flight safety and nature conservation requirements.
  • Advisory service for management and Monitoring of the whole airfield, control of the effectiveness of the change of management and evaluation of the contribution to the Airports “Eco-Account” and environmental stewardship.
  • Apart from management vegetation and fauna is part of the assignment. Incl. an inventory of the Avi-Fauna on the Airport of Nuremberg

Monitoring the regeneration of valuable "Dry Grassland" - Sandgrasheide - inside the Airport.

Simplified vegetation map and monitoring sites.

The outstanding species composition and its conservation through appropriate grassland management methods are summarised for the public.
